Sarah qualified with an honours degree in Physiotherapy from the University of East London in the UK. With over 15 years experience in the Physiotherapy profession she is an experienced Physiotherapist who has worked extensively within private practice, sports teams and in the NHS in England. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science from the UK.
Experienced in treating both workplace and sporting injuries, Sarah uses a variety of techniques to help clients achieve the best possible results. Sarah undertook a post-graduate qualification in Western Acupuncture and Dry-Needling, and uses these techniques in combination with various other manual therapies, Pilates and rehabilitation exercises to help with pain relief for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
A former International gymnast for Great Britain, Sarah has a continued interested in sports and exercise. She uses her elite sporting background experience and sports science degree to aid physiotherapy assessments and treatments. Sarah has worked with a variety of sports teams including Leeds Rhinos Professional Rugby League Football Club in England, where she dealt with a significant number of neck, back and shoulder injuries. She has worked with elite Soccer clubs where she has had extensive experience with hamstring strains, ACL and MCL knee injuries, and ankle sprains. Sarah has worked with a significant number of amateur and semi-pro middle to long distance runners and has experience treating various sporting injuries - runner's knee, Achilles tendonitis, tight calves, and other biomechanical problems.
Sarah has supervised and managed orthopaedic and musculoskeletal departments where she and her team were responsible for the rehabilitation of post-operative orthopaedic patients, including Rotator Cuff repairs, ACL Knee Reconstructions, hip and knee replacements, and various other musculoskeletal surgeries.
Additionally, Sarah has encountered many work related and occupational overuse injuries, including postural neck, back and shoulder pain, wrist and hand pain. Sarah undertook a post graduate course in Hand Therapy from the British Association of Hand Therapists to further her knowledge.
Sarah is English and is married to an Englishman, Mike. They have two young children of Primary and Pre-school ages who keep them both very busy. They are an active family enjoying the bush on their doorstep and the outdoor Australian lifestyle. Sarah runs regularly, and takes her own Physio advice doing core and resistance exercises at home. Mike loves his long distance cycling and is a member of the local cycling club. Daniel and Lily enjoy, swimming, gymnastics, cycling, soccer and going to the park.
